Cikarang, 30th October 2025 – PT Garuda Yamato Steel (GYS) held a live welding event in collaboration with the Indonesian Welding Workshop Community (KBLI) to showcase the excellent weldability of Tahan Gempa Plus products.
Through this initiative, GYS reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Indonesia’s steel fabrication capabilities and supporting the hands behind every great structure, the local welders.
By engaging directly with welders and industry professionals, GYS continues to strengthen its credibility as a trusted and innovative steel manufacturer in Indonesia.
The event featured a friendly welding competition, where participants worked in pairs, a welder and a fitter, to complete an L-shaped joint using GYS materials. Teams were judged on speed, accuracy, and weld appearance, simulating real construction conditions to demonstrate how GYS steel performs under everyday challenges.

One of the key highlights of the event was the proven ease of weldability of Tahan Gempa Plus, even when welded in challenging orientations and angles. The material showed excellent consistency, smooth bead formation, and minimal spatter, making it highly reliable for both field and workshop applications. These characteristics reaffirm GYS’s focus on developing steel products that are not only strong and durable but also practical and efficient to work with in real construction environments.
Beyond the competition, the event also served as a platform for knowledge sharing and technical discussions, allowing participants to exchange insights on welding challenges and explore how GYS materials can provide effective solutions in the field.
Through this initiative, GYS not only validated the strength and reliability of its products but also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Indonesia’s welding community. The event reflects GYS’s dedication to innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement in delivering high-quality steel solutions that meet real-world construction needs.
